The other day Cricket came home with some news that was so awful I thought that it was the stuff of Urban Legends. She said that at work they were talking about the threats to Senator Obama's life called out during one of Governor Palin's rallies. In fact, that this was not an isolated incidence, having occurred at a Senator McCain rally.

This in itself is patently, overtly and terrifyingly a glimpse into the kind of racism that still festers here. What is even more significant, is that neither Palin or McCain have responded to, or discouraged this vitriol. But you decide.
