I just received this response to a letter I wrote. I'd wanted to know if there was anything I could do to help Troy Davis.
Thank you so much for your help in publicizing Troy Davis' case. We are hoping for good news today and that will determine what efforts are needed. If you are in Georgia, please consider joining Georgians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty at www.gfadp.org.

Georgians for Alternatives to the Death PenaltyFor those of you who don't know who he is, he's a man about to be put to death by the State of Georgia. Despite the lack of evidence, the fact that seven out of nine witnesses recanted, (one of the men standing by his statement is believed to be the real culprit), and that President Carter, the Pope, Representative John Lewis along with Amnesty International and The Innocence Project have all protested Mr. Davis' conviction. Today, after the Supreme Court stayed his execution two hours before he was last scheduled to die, they chose not to hear the new evidence, but to uphold his conviction. Without a miracle, he'll be killed before the end of this month.
