I don't know anything about Troy Davis' case, really, and am not in a place I feel up to finding out, nor pondering over death sentences in general. But I hope for everyone's sake that the real culprit, whoever that might be, is convicted.

Eve~I heard from an old friend who's friend had been brutally kidnapped, raped and murdered. The criminal has been put to death.

I've never been comfortable with the Death Penalty. I understand how people can be for it, though. Generally, cases that are capitol are indeed heinous. The problems, however, range from racial, social and economic disparity, to unreliable witnesses and evidence.

The case of Troy Davis came to my attention, because there are so many people convinced of his innocence. It would be a travesty of justice if another innocent man dies.

This is an awful example of how murder can ruin the lives of everyone involved. I feel the deepest sympathy for the family of the slain officer. But it will not bring him back, if some one else dies.

Especially if the person put to death is innocent.

Susan~I hope it is. I know how painful this terrible roller-coaster must have been for the families.

But if the Pope, Bishop Tutu, President Carter, The Innocence Project, Rep. John Lewis and Amnesty International believe in Mr. Davis innocence, I have to believe he is.

They have the man they believe is the real culprit. Let's hope they actually charge him.

Gianna, hey girl~It's the kind of story you wouldn't believe if it were a movie. The US Supreme Court's stay of his execution came two hours before the appointed time. It wasn't the first stay, either. I don't know about you, but I'd be barking mad be now.

Davis has a faith that I am lacking. This is Job in the modern world. Or, as I've said before, Kafka-esque.
