Troy Davis' Death Sentence Update.

Posted by kw

Some people have asked about the fate of Troy Davis.  Mr. Davis was granted a stay of execution.  It was two hours before the State of Georgia was going to electrocute him to death.  The U.S. Supreme court has granted this stay, one that was sought by the Pope, President Carter, The Innocence Project, Amnesty International, along with grass-roots efforts.  In theory, we will know their verdict by October 6th.  For more on this, please go to the blog of the   Innocence Project.

I don't think the state of Georgia will execute Troy Davis-there is too much publicity surrounding his case. I just hope they let him off the hook sooner than later.

Ashley~I hope that you are right. It's an ongoing tragedy that so many Death Penalty cases do not receive this sort of publicity.

Most of us do not want to deal with killing the animals we eat. Having the meat delivered in cling-wrapped packages removes us from the fact that we're eating an animal.

I believe that that is the same reason that the Death Penalty still exists. If anyone has seen the brutal execution by electrocution, they would not sleep so well.

This is especially true, now that there is an on-going exoneration through the recent DNA analysis.
