Sunday After Black Souled Friday.

Cricket and I left last Wednesday, with Nigel, Zebedee and Griffin in tow.  We went to her house at the shore, a place devoid of television and my computer.  We still heard smatterings about the violence in India.  On our return, I came back on line, to hear about the Wal-Mart death, which you no doubt, have been privy to for a day or so.

I'll not take the time right now to reiterate my loathing for Wal-Mart.  I'd just like to take the time to absorb the awful news, to not jump onto a wagon that is already rolling.  To reflect, to wish, oh, to wish this didn't surprise me.  Because, policy, poverty, pundits aside, there is a television ad that simulates these rushing hoards.  But in the ad, the clerk is able to climb up a concrete support column.  I'll give you the link in a day or so, unless they pulled it.

In the meantime, my friends Eve and Susan have written about this stupendous tragedy.  Please stop by, as this should be given full attention.  Also, be sure and read the previous post on Susan's blog.  It includes a prescient concept.

You have been so kind in your support and comments, which I am remiss in returning.  I hope to be back to full speed by the week-end and....lose weight....clean my room......find a cure for what's ailing you....smack Bush in the face with a Brazilian....play then win the lottery.....get a grip.....................and the one thing I'm sure I can do right now, go to sleep!

It's nice to spend a few days out of electronic reach 'eh. Or at least mostly. Lets the mind settle a bit. I was down the south coast here a few weeks back, admittedly for a conference but hey, at least my mobile phone/internet didn't work most of the time so it seemed like a holiday ;)

Meanwhile, rest well, dear Dano =) Take it one long, deep breath at a time and hopefully when you're back we can all put our heads together for your brilliant Mad Tea Party phone tree type thing idea.

CK~ I'm cracking a big smile, just to know that you are back in the'hood. It does a body good, you know?

Immi has been e-mailing to me about the party, which has been helpful. I've contacted the Chicago-based MTP to see if they object to my using their name and to see if they have any input.

I will keep you all posted. I believe that this is something that could fly. I've been learning on the fly since the beginning of my blog. I may suck it up and reach out to a pro....

EVE~ You are far too important for people not to know about you. I have been thinking about putting the link to the Won Ton Estates in a separate widget, because you are such an amazing resource.

PINKLATEX~ Hon, I missed it all, due to lack of TV and an on-going revulsion of Wal-Mart, Malls and sales. I'll pop by and take a gander. Hell, when something smells bad, we keep checking to see if it is as bad as we first thought.

MERELYME~ I have no fear of being trampled, as I rarely leave my house! When I do, it is never to be around crowds, malls, sports fans or the cattle call "First Friday" of the galleries in Old City.

I'll be by, although I'm running a tad slow, because Nigel Nancyboy is curled up on one of my legs!
